How about doing a small family tree back to your grandparents. You could look at how their life experiences, philosophies, influences, upbringing impacted on your parents and in turn on you and make comparisons between different values and outlook from last two generations to you.

The information is already there. You could ask key questions of your parents and grandparents

-What was it like being a teenager in your time?
-Who influenced your thinking and outlook on life the most?
-What are your key philosophies that drive your thinking?
-What good / bad experiences influenced you that most and how did they contribute to making the
person you are today?

Keep the questions focused so that you can than translate them to your own situation.

Look at changes, upbringing and how have these contributed to who you are as a person and individual. You might find that both your immediate grandparents and parents have used a mixture of experiences and knowledge to influence your upbringing?
