I think you should spend a little time studying catholicism as well before you present tis type of article. Catholic altars are very simplistic in actuality and do not resemble Vodou altars at all. Spiritualist churches often have altars that resemble Vodou altars.

Okay, I skimmed it and did not see any glaring errors of spelling, grammar or punctuation. THAT SAID, I need to be honest with you that no one is likely to read a l-o-n-g essay online. So, my suggestion is that you print it out (double spaced, which is probably how it is to be submitted) and have both your Language Arts (used to be called "English") Teacher proof-read it, and your Guidance Counselor. Since it will be a piece of work that neither wrote, they will be able to proof-read with fresh eyes.

Your ideas so far are really clever. I'm not sure if the Declaration of Independence is quite right for the DNA, though. What about the Constitution, instead? That really serves as more of a guideline for the way in which our country is run, sort of like DNA dictates the way the cell runs. Or maybe you could say that the collection of our country's laws represent the DNA. Here are a couple more ideas:

Mitochondria- power plants

Golgi Bodies- meat (since protein is usually what's being packaged) packaging plant for export to other countries. Or, in keeping with your ER metaphor, you could say that Golgi are an extension of the US Postal Service specifically devoted to international outgoing mail.

As for vacuoles, the metaphor seems to fall apart a little bit here. The closest correlary would be a ship or plane that carried US garbage out of the country. We don't really have anything like that, but I don't think that means the whole metaphor should be abandoned. Perhaps you should note in your essay what a vacuole would represent in your metaphor, and simply explain that no such thing actually exists. Your professor will probably be fine with this, as long as it's clear that you understand the function of vacuoles. I hope this helps. For more information, visit Wikipedia:

well, its not bad. there are a few spelling errors and the paper doesnt flow too well, but id say its like a B but possibly a C. id maybe work on better diction and varying sentence length and structure.
