A nice little trick is to start off with 'Overall,' this has always worked for me. Something like, "Overall, Flogging Molly and The Dropkick Murphys are both similiar and different. *Reiterate some of these similarities and differences*. Regardless, both of these bands with be listened to and replayed over and over for years to come."

Okay, that's not great, but it's a start.

I nearly always write my compare/contrast essays by highlighting either two similarities and one difference, or else one difference and two similarities; but never two similarities with two differences, I have been told by several instructors to always use three segments as I described above. It is best to ask your instructor what they expect though.
