well obviously the writer/director didnt even attempt to deny the parallels between the two, he kept the characters' names the same. He also gave them similar backgrounds, the foreigner, the sisters, the fop. its funny the way people always say highschool never ends, this is a perfect example of how really any drama can easily be put into a high school setting. You can also talk about the way that this movie allows shakespeare to reach a whole new generation of audiences who may never have heard this story otherwise, and how it reaches them on a much more personal level which they can actually relate to.
