Hey, I just finished my first year of college. Get the better 24 inch. The extra 2 inches isn't worth it, especially since you're in a small dorm room. So yeah, like you said, you might be hurting your eyes in the long run. I had a 24 inch too. completely fine. I played on my 360 and watched movies all the time, no problem. Unless you're in some really large dorm room for some reason, there's no reason to get a bigger t.v.
