The admission exams at these for-profit schools are a joke. Even if you do bad, they will still admit you.

Back when I considered Keller/DeVry, I did take the admission exam. The subject is determined by a computer so there is no set topic. My topic was on school uniforms. I did well and got a perfect score (my BA is in English, so I knew how to write a good essay).

However, I withdrew from DeVry two days before I was supposed to start since I have heard horror stories about them. I didn't want to invest all of that money into a degree from a for-profit school. So I am now at a school with an excellent reputation.

Yes, start early, proofread, and get a teacher good at English to read and give suggestions. Also, spell check and make sure your essay represents best qualities of your school ability. It should be within the length limits and should reflect your best writing. Good Luck!

Write about what makes YOU different than the thousands of other applicants. Write about why you'd be a good fit for the school. They do like to hear all about you, but they also like to hear how they'll be benefited, also.
