Mae Said:

i need an outline example for academic writing regarding my life story?

We Answered:

You need an intro, body, and conclusion.

In your intro, lead us into what you're going to talk about. inform us of the 3 main things you will be talking about, whatever they may be. it could be something like Elementary, Middle School, and High school, or Life in Cali, Life in New York, Life in Florida. or whatever 3 main points you'll speak of.

and then in the body of your essay, speak of those things.

and the conclusion should wrap things up in an interesting way and repeat the main points you covered.

So here's a layout

Intro:
-Interesting and true/related to yourself first statement. "example: Most people havent run for their lives with three spies chasing after them. I'm one of the lucky few who have."
-lead us into what the paper is going to be about
-tell us main point
-transcend us into your paper

Body
Main point one
info, info
Main point two
info, info
Main point three
info, info

Conclusion
tell us what we heard
repeat the main points
close in an interesting, memorable way. what you want us to remember about you or life.

Katrina Said:

In academic writing, can you start a sentence with 'sure enough'?

We Answered:

You can do anything. The question is "What are the consequences?"
"Sure enough" is not only a colloquialism but its meaning suggests that it is the conclusion to a previously expressed premise and ought therefor not to begin a sentence.

"I suspected that there could be something wrong with the Rolex I had bought for $10.00; and sure enough, there was.

Alma Said:

Please help with academic writing. Please rewrite paragraph using language common in academic writing. Thanks?

We Answered:

First issue: this is clearly an opinion piece. Where are your facts and citations? That's a pretty basic part in any academic writing. Who says that alcoholism is lower in said countries?

Alcoholism has been seen in higher rates in countries that forbid children, and not adults, to drink. Conversely, in societies where children are given alcohol at an early age, rates of alcoholism are lower. People in countries such as France and Greece often introduce children to alcohol at family dinners. These countries take pride in self-control while drinking. Alcohol is not seen as something taboo, more as something to be enjoyed in moderation.
