Short Story Creative Writing
Clayton Said:
i have to write a short story for creative writing.?We Answered:
You may be learning more than you realize. You seem pretty smart to me, and I imagine that you are doing some private critiquing, sorting out the repetitive inane from the occasional, but satisfying, good. This thought process is preparing you for life, real life, even though you can't understand that now. You are getting a rare peek into how others think, and how their thinking is regarded by others. One of the wisest things you could do now about the class itself is just to try to stay involved (though not necessarily by talking unless required), by observing and making private evaluations. Lots of folks reveal much more than they realize, and this gives them the perfect opportunity to do that, and gives you the perfect opportunity to LEARN from it.About the short story, that should be easy. Just decide that you will write your story on the first thing said to you by the third person you talk to tomorrow, or some such arbitrary selection, then do it. You don't need to decide ahead of time if it will be a funny story, or a sad one, or dramatic, or moralistic (like Aesop's fables), but it is really fun making up some sort of story with a basis in truth. I hope you do well; you sound as if you are on the way there. Oh, yes, give your teacher a bit of credit. I may be wrong about this, but I imagine that she knows better than you think what she is doing. Creative writing is a very challenging subject to teach without pushing one's own feelings into the students' minds, but forcing them, instead, to think themselves .
