Help with creative writing!?We Answered:
You are a writer - who says you have to base your story in reality.Maybe it's the future - someone presses a certain button and suddenly you find yourself teleported to a street miles away.
You are worrying about something that could potentially take 3 days of heavy researching and investigation for something that can be summarised in a sentence.
If you must find out this information - go to the website of a local prison. That should have the procedures for visiting relatives and pick-up at the end of a prisoner's sentence.

Pick at random! Since it's all so mixed up anyway, just choose one from each and see if you can develop a random plot.Scott Said:
I have a creative writing assignment 4 school! Game!?We Answered:
Okay!A 93 year-old woman... a wedding reception... after a thunderstorm has passed... something embarrassing KEEPS happening ( put a twist on that one)
So, maybe. The 93 year old woman jsut got married, and she's at her reception. During the wedding, there was a thunderstorm which has just finished. The storm ruined her dress/hair/makeup and her relatives continue to make jokes about her age and getting married?

What are my chances of getting into NYU, The New School, or Pratt? We Answered:
You are 100% certain to get into all 3. Last year they were flooded with applicants. This year there will be far fewer. If you need financial aid it will be much tougher , tho..Curtis Said:
MOVIE SCRIPT---high school creative writing class? We Answered:
There is one overwhelming thing that makes your screenplay unsuitable to submit to anyone: you don't have the rights to the novel you've adapted. Without that, your screenplay is virtually worthless.More to the point, and what you're asking:
1. You're opening scene doesn't have a slug line. The scene, obviously, take place at a baby shower. Give it a slug line.
2. "CREDITS OVER" shouldn't be there at all. You're not the production designer, you're not the director, you're the writer. You don't get to decide where the credits go.
3. Remove EVERY 'SMASH CUT' from the screenplay; you, again, are the writer. You're not the director, you're not the editor, you just write the story.
4. The baby should be identified at her first appearance on screen. not later.
5. The entire beginning is sloppy and very messy. Write the scene(s), and stop all of the confusing cutting from scene to scene. The way you've built the setup, it doesn't seem to forward the story or introduction of characters very well at all.
6. Slug lines appear by themselves on lines. There's no description on that same line.
7. Remove the quotes from the dialogue, they don't belong there.
8. Rethink the capitalization you're using in the description, it's all wrong; you capitalize characters at their first introduction, important objects and important actions. LOUNGING is not an important action, it's a recommended pose for the character.
9. Slug lines need reference; you need to have a time of day (or CONTINUOUS) in every slug line. Not just an INT and a place name.
That ought to get you started.
