Do you know specifically what your teacher has in mind? See, if by memories he is asking about some historical story line then you can go with pretty much anything. But if it's 'about' memories, then maybe you can do a story line about something like the ravages one would expect Alzheimer's to have on a couple's marriage, or love. Think of your teacher, how old is he? Any idea what he might be thinking of in his day and age? If you can sneak into his brain and see what might be of interest to him personally, I think you'll do well.
Memories. Read up on how they are born. One of the best triggers of memories is the sense of smell. The olfactory sense can make you think of someone you have not thought of since you were four years old, a certain perfume of a daycare attendant...or the smell of a cafeteria in the school you visited during high school years while on some sporting event.

How about he/she arrived at:
- his/her home and has a bad gut feeling. They decide to look around and find someone dead. Could be a family member or a random person. They then call the police and the story follows a detective on the case of catching who did this.
- school or some institute of the sort to realize that the entire school had been infected with some disease, they then have to escape when the power fails. (zombie like I guess)
- their hometown or city and stood outside. they felt like something was wrong and their surroundings were quiet as well as eery. Later on something happens (this is up to you) like :
a) aliens attack b) rabid animals? c) mass murder d) city dissapeared

Anyways hope some of those ideas help
