Ideas for fiction writing?

We Answered:

You're only fresh out of ideas because you aren't even trying to ask the "what if" questions. There are ideas everywhere. Sit down and think for a bit and I'm sure you'll come up with something. Take a cliched idea if you must and ask yourself how to change it so it's not cliche. By the time you're done, you could have a plot line completely unlike the original cliche. Don't just ask others to do the brainstorming for you. It comes across as very lazy. Good luck.

Writing ideas? Elements of fiction included?

We Answered:

The story line is the plot, a concept orthogonal to the above characteristics. In other words, it's not related ... although most ironies are drawn from a plot twist.

Note, for instance, that "Waiting fro Godot" manages to incorporate all of these elements, despite having virtually no plot.

Let's consider ... "Forrest Gump". The main irony is that Forrest spends the entire movie sitting at a bus stop, waiting for a bus to take him to Jenny. Forrest doesn't really know where Jenny lives; all he knows is that someone told him the bus number. After spending two hours of our time telling random strangers about various phases of his life, the last stranger notices that Jenny's return address is within easy walking distance of the bus stop. Had Forrest had any city navigation skills, he could have avoided the entire movie. :-)

The theme is based on how Forrest managed to learn good ethics and have a quite notable, successful life, when he had a very substandard intelligence rating.

The settings are the places where the story occurs.

The characterizations are the various traits each person in the story has; note how their personalities drive the plot, especially in the ways they directly affect Forrest's personal growth.

I need a fiction writing idea.. setting is Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Help please.?

We Answered:

I am sure you can come up with something.
If you like Drama or Romantic stories do something were two people meet on a beach but are seperated for some tragic reason. But after many years are reunitied at the same beach. And pick up the relationship were it left off. and have the end be their wedding on the same beach.
I know it is corny but I like it, I am such a sap.
well good luck with the story I hope I helped.

I need fiction writing ideas? i need to write a fictional story.i want something deep and challenging.plz help?

We Answered:

Fiction can be about anything that helps a character grow, change and learn more about themselves. It can be as ordinary as a breakfast with family where the character realizes something about himself or the world, or it can be as complex as a vast international conspiracy full of villains and challenges. Remember to write things you know about. Set it in your neighborhood, or use yourself as the main character. The beauty of fiction is it gives the writer an opportunity to explore something on paper that they may never experience in real life. Do you want to write a romance? Think about how you feel falling in love. Do you want to write adventure? Set it someplace that you've been or you know a lot about. Do you want to write something quiet and introspective, or something full of action and excitement? You could even make the entire thing up, by placing your character in another world, another planet, another time, even of a different species, like science fiction or horror. I hope this helps to jump-start your own ideas.
