Go with it. If you like writing and want to write fiction as well as articles for newspapers what could be better. If you don't do it you might regret it later on. Don't think that by having a degree you will somehow be a best selling author overnight. Do it because you want to and enjoy it too. Good luck.

I would think you can do a fair amount of writing - the majority of which would be fairly creative.

Journalist, Author, TV/Film Scriptwriter, Playwright. Things like that, probably.

you could get your BA in creative writing and then get a masters in business or advertising/marketing. you have to be very creative in both advertising and marketing. also, you could be a writer for films of tv, it might take a few years to get into but if you are into in it could really pay off. and there's not necessarily anything wrong with getting your ba or higher in writing and then teaching a course or 2 at a community college while exploring your other options
