I define my writing as etchy and blunt, like a slow moving graphic novel without color. It's always a tale of people and their adventure through a maze of problems that is life.

I don't think what I have created is powerful or moving, electic or senual. Atleast not by itself. What I've created is just a part of myself that I have let go of. Part of myself that I have channeled into writing, like capturing a still-frame picture of my own soul.

I'm not a writer though, because I lack the fundamental skill of actually writing. A writer needs more ambition than any businessman, because they will always be asking 'Is this story worth telling?' I don't know, writing is the easiest thing to do, but the hardest thing to do well.

If you can keep the attention of the reader, chances are it's good enough.....but if you want to be sure, there are places that you can enroll to fine tune your skills or get constructive criticism. Be careful of correspondence courses where they may not have the proper credentials to teach or critique. Even some publishing companies will critique your work or maybe even an agent. Ask someone who's opinion you value or trust to read it. Ask if it kept their attention, or was interesting, or had a fresh approach or was something they would be interested in reading.
Sometimes, a person can write Interesting stories but grammar, punctuation, spelling and form may be absent.....there are many "how tos" on your type of writing, classes you can take or refresher courses that don't cost a lot of money to enroll.
The bottom line, is did it keep anyones attention? Does it grab the reader and compel them to keep reading....then it is more than a hobby, it is a gift......
