So you prefer to live outside the box. You could write an essay on what it is like to live outside the box.

You could talk about what is in the box and why you prefer to live outside of it...

(the phrase "outside the box" conjures up all kinds of images!)

The book I would most likely read is Idea 3. The one I would read to a kid would be is Idea 2 or Idea 4.

Have you ever read the Twilight series by Stephenie Meyer? That appears to be very popular right now. I've read them and loved them. They're great romance novels as well as very mysterious and I never wanted to put the books down. If you've never read them then look up some information and maybe base your story on something like that, romantic but yet mysterious sort of thing.

You're thin on the sensory details, talk about what you heard, saw, smelled, tasted, felt, not just your anxiety. You did better with the hyphenated modifiers and expanded moment, but you could have drawn out the moment further, having the swell start farther out and go deeper.
