Creative Writing Topics For Children
Ronnie Said:
For novel/short story/creative writing...when would you need copyright permission? We Answered:
-- were writing a variation of a well known story...such as "Alice in Wonderland"...or "Sleeping Beauty"...and so on...Sleeping Beauty is a fairy tale and not copyrighted by anyone. Alice in Wonderland is old enough to be out of copyright. But you do need to be careful. "Peter Pan" is a well-known story, right? It's even legally out of copyright. However, because the copyright belonged to a huge children's hospital in the UK rather than a person, there's an agreement that it would stay valid. And there are plenty of well-known stories which are still in copyright.
-- use a title (just a title...no quotes) of a book, song, movie, and any other type of media...
Titles cannot be copyrighted. But they might be trademarks, especially if they are associated with one product. You can't title your book "Star Wars: the alternative version", for instance. But you can certainly write a book called Twilight - there are dozens already.
-- use quotes from movies...or other types of media in general...
Your characters can quote from movies provided that, in the story, that is what they are doing. You can't reassign quotes from movies as something your characters said first.
...if you have characters in a book under the age of 18 (like maybe 15-17 years old) involved in sexual actions....is it considered 'child porn'...
Yes. A traditional publisher will not even look at it, and I'm pretty sure an erotica publisher won't either if the characters are below the age of consent. (It's okay to write about the consequences of teen sex - there are plenty of YA books out there about teen pregnancy.)

help me to think about a cute, nice, and has a moral topic in writing a children's story book(for preschoolers)? We Answered:
Taking a walk with a child of any age can alter perspective. What about a walk from point A to point B. A walk from home to the park. On the way to the park she see's a green octopus in a tree upon getting closer the octopus is actually leaves blowing wildly in the wind. A bear by the sidewalk turns out to be trash can by the curb. A snake by the house is a hose in a yard. Each character pointing out the change in the season. The leaves are blowing, the winds are coming, summer is ending and fall is coming. It could appear that the animal was talking, or that the child and adult were pretending to be the octopus (or each animal created) or the leaves talking and what they would be saying if they could talk.Annie Said:
Creative Writing?We Answered:
Your teacher is an idiot. Why can't it be a sad story? I guess if your teacher was in charge of Disney then "Bambi" never would have been made.Anyway, maybe a story about going to elementary school in sub-Saharan Africa or a story about child working on a farm.

What do you think of this creative writing story? We Answered:
Sorry must agree with cinamoroll. You are trying too hard with your metaphors and they are unhelpful to the plot. Think about what you are trying to say with them"She switched on her cognitive mind like a flick of a switch." How else do you switch something on?
the grass wouldn't dominate but the tree would
