Creative Writing Tasks

Kristen Said:

how would you prepare for a creative writing task?

We Answered:

If you don't know your topic, maybe you should focus more on characters that you want to write about. If you have a character in mind, then when you get your topic you shouldn't have too much trouble thinking of how your character would react to it.

Help with my creative writing task?

We Answered:

Even in their own country, black Africans were not allowed to use a white persons toilet. Maybe you could write a story about a pregnant woman who really needs to find a toilet and she can only find a white persons one. She is with a couple of friends. When they go into the toilet, the lady starts having contractions. A white woman is in there and she goes out and calls the police. You take it from there. A terrible time in African history.

Creative writing task... I'm just not creative I don't want to fail?

What was your first draft about? The first rule of writing is to write, then revise. If you send me some more information I would be glad to help you out. (addy is on my profile)

What are the tasks of a creative writing teacher?!?

We Answered:

Encourage students to own and be confident in their own ideas. I used to get my students to freewrite for about 10 min each class. It helped them clear their minds and built their confidence too.

How to keep within time limits for creative writing tasks?

We Answered:

You can do it. These are some tips.

Tip 1: Write about something you know well. When you choose a short story to write, stick to a story that you can connect to your own life experience. (The examiners prefer stories that are not about sex or gore.)

Tip 2: Write about one short event, one moment in time, or one emotional experience. Make your story take place in a short space of time, or focus on one emotional moment.

Tip 3: Use simple words and short sentences. You don't want the examiner to slow down reading to figure out what you meant. You will impress the examiner more by using simple, clear language to tell an exciting story, than by using complex language to tell a story he/she can't figure out.

Leave yourself five minutes to proofread. Remember it is only a test. Preparing a storyline is not cheating. Save all your great ideas and revising strategies for your first novel!

Any ideas on a creative writing task for Frankenstein-AS level?

We Answered:

how about the point of view of one of the victims? Or what Frankenstein would do differently next time? If there wasn't going to be a next time, you could give him an impassioned speech saying why not.
Or the private thoughts of the sea captain who picked him up?
