I like the idea of a locked room or closet. Maybe you could have the main character get kidnapped and locked in a closet or small room that is pitch black. And she can hear the kidnappers discussing what to do with her.

Then she could search around in the small place for things and perhaps come across an object that helps her escape
Or maybe she could find a small vent entrance that she can escape through or a small door that leads into the basement.
Who knows how she would escape, it's your story.
