okay well i guess i'm just gonna have to ad-lib:

this could be about, well, anything. A kid moving to another school, city, state, etc. Or maybe he just has to forget about an ex girlfriend.

"He hated to admit it, but whar he really felt at the funeral more than anything else was boredom."
Perfect, his great-aunt that he never met died. and while he feels sad for the people around him, he doesnt see why HE had to make the 5 hour trip to the funeral. It's not like his mom was THAT close to Aunt Gertrude (or whatever name you want to call her)
But even though he's bored at the funeral he sees something. or someone.
you can make this go sooo many ways.
maybe he sees his great aunts ghosts. WHAM- paranormal mystery
or while he is in the city he notices a girl thar catches his eye- BOOM romantic comedy

hmm...

Well I think that since its October, and near Halloween, you should write a scary story. Maybe a short report on the Blair Witch Project or Salem witch trials. I'm just think about the stuff I've had to do in my English class. And I think if you find a topic that's interesting you'll write a better story, and you might find the Blair witch interesting enough, i did.
