I did one in my creative writing class where you had to pick out of a hat a name of someone else in the class and some random thing (like you'd draw a peice of paper out and it would say "Mary Smith and Harry Potter" or "Tom Jones and the color red.") And then you had to write a dialogue between the two. It was kind of interesting, kind of funny...

i also did one where we looked at pictures torn out of magazines and then had to write a story around them. that one's pretty common, though.

I did one where you had to compare yourself to an inanimate object...a lot of people did something trite though, like a song or water. (i compared myself to a magic 8 ball. it was weird).

i did one where you chose a poem you liked, and the wrote your own poem about the same topic or whatever, except you put it in your own voice and perspective.

As a fellow writer/poet, I suggest you just start writing about whatever pops into your mind when you think the words "big mistake." Go with the flow once you have an idea, and then you're all set! :)

You are the last to know that traditional Italian Carbonara does not actually contain cream!
