Bez's Freaky Dancing tells about his life in the late 80s and is strangely informative (I'm surprised he could remember so much!)

And God Created Madchester (don't know the author, sorry) is another one you could have a look at.

We Answered:

I sent my application off for Zoology on the 15th October.

Cambridge - Offer (A*AA)
Durham - Offer (ABB)
Liverpool - Offer (AB)
Nottingham - Offer (BBB)

St Andrews - Still awaiting a decision.

Universities vary on how long they take. Scottish ones in Particular are notorious for not giving out offers until after the 15th, and many English ones do this too. Liverpool and Nottingham replied 9 days after I sent my application. Durham took a month and a half. Cambridge took about a month and a half to give me an interview, and I got my decision on the 7th January.
