Evelyn Said:
Is there any hope left for my life and dreams? We Answered:
I would love to try to answer your question since you were the first one to answer mine, and it actually made my day a little bit. You surely have more experience in life since I'm still in my (late) twenties, but maybe I can help - The first thing is - I don't think that you should go for a way of life that makes you feel broke and exhausted all the time. When we are broke an exhausted we normally make the wrong choices. I am not talking about luxury. You have to get enough sleep and good food. And its good to know your bills are paid.Otherwise one day you will collapse and your losses will be worse. But maybe you should rethink your goals and be more patient. I always wanted, for example, to write a novel myself. I sat down, wrote a little bit, had a good beginning but couldn't come up with the rest of the story. Then couple of days later, I started something new. And again had only a beginning.
Then I looked at my diary, I used to write diary entries only now and then, and still, I realized that I had hundreds of pages. So I wrote my novel (it was actually more of a "long" short story) step by stpe, writing a little bit, and not trying to get ready in 24 hours.
I mean by that story that small steps really can do a lot, you just have to make a habit out of the right activity. E.g. find a job that suits you a little bit more, or pay the same for less time, or where your coworkes are nicer and so on. And then do some evening classes, writing classes or language for example.
We often make mistakes because we want everything immediately, but there is a saying that life begins at forty. So I'd say its more important not to make any major mistakes, and have your life well ordered when you're there and not - for example - to have to work like a slyve to pay off the debts that you made in your thirties.
You don't have to sacrifice your goals for your son, I learned through my hard times lately that it is our obligation to take good care of ourselves and our needs (nobody will get happier if you are unhappy) and it is never a either or situation - there is a way to have a job that you like AND not be broke.

Honestly, what do you think my chances are....?We Answered:
You should have a pretty good chance. Your SAT or ACT score will also impact the decisions of the school. If you keep up your grades though, I bet you'll get in an ivy league school. Also keep in mind though, that admissions essays are critically evaluated and read thoroughly.April Said:

I need creative writing-- short story help?We Answered:
i think you might need to leave more open questions at the end of the synopsis like: what surprising life lessons are in store for Rose as she battles for custody of little "X"? Personally if I pick up a book that poses no questions A) I'm intrested in or B) that imply a twist to the typical predictable grind, I'll probably abandon them.Likewise I would suggest you not go into writing the story with the end figured out, see where the process takes you.To me creative writing is not about documenting reality (that would be biography and autobiography) its about exploring the possibilities within yourself and weaving myth into a stylized storyline.
