Advertising and marketing will most likely be the most specific in getting you a job. Creative writing will probably not get you far with that alone, unless you are very good at writing and can get published with high royalties. Philosophy and psychology are great majors, but may require some extra schooling if you really want to emphasize your talents in those areas and set yourself aside from the crowd.

First off, don't count on journalism to help you out. I have a journalism degree, and I'm having a hard time finding a position right now after being canned from my previous reporting job. The news industry is in too much flux right now. It's not a good time to try to get in with no experience or degree. And there really is a good bit of information and writing style you have to know beforehand that no editor is going to want to have to teach you.

Question: What did you think you were going to do with a BA in psych when you first started? Everyone I knew getting a psych degree back when I was in college was planning on getting a master's degree right after graduation.

Anyway, you might look for something in maybe entry-level HR or management, although most of the jobs I've seen in those areas are requiring previous job experience. Maybe a case worker or something similar in the nonprofit sector. Or maybe look for a job as a parole/probation officer.

Another option would be sales and marketing, since presumably you learned about the way people think in pursuit of your degree.

Pratt is more known for being an art school than anything else. Columbia and NYU are excellent liberal arts schools.
