Creative Writing Ideas For Adults

Ethel Said:

any ideas on how to remedy the aids situation in Africa for adults?

We Answered:

I'm sorry, but the truth is that while we care, many of those infected there just don't. Google a TIME article about 5 years ago that will blow your mind. Until those infected care and are willing to act accordingly and responsibly, there really isn't anything that can be done to stop the spread. It's very sad.

[edit] I won't do your research for you but I can help you find it - www.time.com/time/archive will allow you to search through their old publications. This was an article written by one of their staff who started out going there to reveal the sadness and plight of the "poor" people and was amazed at what he found instead, which was a ton of people who weren't moved by their own spreading of this disease and just an overall lack of value for life. Routinely the husbands who drive truck across country become infected because they refuse to ignore sexual drive while on the road, visit known infected prostitutes, become infected but don't tell their families and then bring the disease home to them. It's sickening what he reveals about the truth of how they really view it and the reality that their government uses their plight to ask for assistance from other wealthier countries but then steal it when it arrives and it never makes it to the people who need it. You won't hear this on the news - check it out. (don't remember the date, but it's been within the past 10 years, when the real "save Africa" drive started.)

Creative writing help?

We Answered:

What you need to do is start off by focusing in on one thing. For example if you're describing the doctor's office you could start off by saying "The light above you hums like an angel as it flickers on and off", you could then expand upon that by describing the entire room. For example "The posters scattered across the walls are suddenly drawn to your attention as you feel as if you're about the sink into a deep boredom you will never escape."

So these are rules for descriptive writing as follows:
1. ALWAYS write in the 2nd person. You want your writing to be something your audience can relate to.
2. Imagine you're holding a camera and describe what you see with the camera. When you're describing one thing imagine you are zooming the camera in on it.
3. Writing about something to do with general life (even if it isn't that exciting) can actually produce some of the best pieces of work. Too much action can sometimes make a piece too fast paced, confusing and even tedious.

Kathryn Said:

If you could be tutored in creative writing online ....?

We Answered:

There are a lot of sites out today where people can post their work online and have others from all over comment. However, unlike what you have in mind, these comments usually provide little use to the writer, and those commenting typically have the experience you do. I think it's a very good idea. Go for it.

Now, I can't say I would be willing to pay online for something like this, but realistically I think a good price would be $10-15 (U.S.) per hour.

What are the most difficult problems for adults to handle?

We Answered:

Being overwhelmed with problems. In my late 30's early 40's my parents were dead. I had 2 teenager's not alot of money, a husband that was out working 16 hours a day & not making alot of money. I had a home office but was trying to save for my son's to go to college. One son became addicted to drugs. He was a good person. Facing the discrimination & judgement back them made it hard for me to get help. I became isolated. Just one problem after another & no place to turn. Now the internet has opened a whole world of help up to those that can afford to use it. My son died & I was sick so I had to stop working then my husband got sick & stopped working we lost our health insurance. Dealing with people who have alot of support & no understanding is really hard.
