For my sweet 16, we rented out two doll house beach houses.
It was a long night and a long story. But to get to the horror of it (or the added horror)...when we finally got back to the houses at a little past midnight, my mum and Mary went into their doll house...the one with all the food in it.
Little did we know that the place had JUST sprayed for bugs.
Coach roaches everywhere.
Everyone had to huddle in the one house that had no food...freaking out.

Lucky, my cake was safe.
But that's horror for ya.

Finally the bell sounded; I stepped outside the school doors and, without a backward glace, headed off into the holidays. This was going to be a break worth remembering. *The day, filled with the aroma of Grandmother's yeast rolls, hot from the stove, for she couldnot stand them cold, filled our nostrils; my cousin (Terry and I rarely saw one another except during ths time of year) were eagerly anticipating the first buttered bite: it was fun letting the butter trickle down our chins to hear the adults fuss. Not long afterward, our bellies full, we were forced to succumb to the awaiting feather beds in the wood frame house on the lonely sand-filled road.

Someone finishing school and walking off into their new life, a break, a time to explore and have adventures whilst finding out what to do with their life and what purpose they have in the world. Could be an adventure thing meeting people, struggles along the way, where lessons are learned along the way.
