help!! GCSE English Creative Writing ! STORY IDEA!?

We Answered:

The best idea and easiest to write will be the idea you think of yourself.

What do you want to write about? What do you know about and have an interest in?

Brainstorm some ideas on topics you like and see what you come up with. Maybe do a character profile (make your own characters and write about them). See if you can find a story to fit around them.

Maybe read some short stories as well. fictionpress.com is a decent site for you to read a few stories on whatever interests you (just don't copy - the teachers will know)

Writing something you have experienced yourself is always good. No real thought needed to write down what happened to you unless you change a few things for a twist or to make it a bit more interesting.

English Coursework: Creative Story Writing GCSE Help?

We Answered:

How about a teenager who's homeless spending his/her first night in the city alone. The hostel is full, they've got nowhere to go, they move from bus shelter to bus shelter hoping not to be picked up by the police, then it gets later and they end up sitting in a doorway. Write about their feelings, surroundings and the people they see.

Don't write about family or a TV show, that lacks creativity, part of the mark is creating the situation yourself.

Title for my GCSE creative writing task?

We Answered:

Hmm, a couple titles come to mind...Disorder in the Court, focusing in on the word "disorder"....A Life Adjourned, assuming that he did die....and lastly, A Father's Life , or Life, Out of Order, obviously centering on the "out of order" term. That was my logic, court and mental terms. As far as the his name? Hmm, I don't know, it depends if you want it to have some kind of connection to the story or not, otherwise it can be anything. Good Luck...

GCSE Creative Writing - these ideas any good?

We Answered:

Yeah, really original, you're a year 10 student, right? Like me.

I've submitted my piece of creative writing already, on Friday actually. A father, me, ends up losing his wife and then his daughter. This time round, when he loses his daughter, she isn't 'dead', 'dead' in the way you first assumed, it's just that he's lost her. He no longer sees the bright eyed baby that had glared up at him in this longing fashion. One day, over-night, poof, their relationship plummets. Now he wants answers, he wants to know where it all went wrong and most importantly why. I very much enjoyed writing the opening (because that's all that's been asked of us, an opening) it had a lot of truth in it but I'm afraid my teacher won't like it. I think it may be too truthful. =)

I like the improvised explosive device idea, everything could slow down, the pace - right down, just before it happens. You could think up a fair amount of interesting situations sprouting for just that one.

The second, I believe, is too cliched.
