You know, I am thinking that you are overqualified for a clerk receptionist position. You probably need to look for jobs that better align with your qualifications.

Your resume is OK. Cut down on your list of personal qualities in your letter of inquiry. Leave out most of them and concentrate on the ones that match the job duties.

Also, Have your transcripts translated by a accredited institution.

This is not the best time to be looking for a job in the US because of the financial crisis. Unless they know you personally, employers are going to hire an American first. You may want to enroll in an American University so that you can get some letters of reference from an American source.

You may want to go to some companies so that people can meet you when you apply. Personal contact is very important here. Also, go to a university or community college and look on their job board at the career planning and placement office. They have some good leads.

Craig's list is not a very good place to find a job. Try Monster instead. Look in you local newspaper, go to the unemployment office or the Sunday classified ads in the local newspaper.

You will have much better luck looking for a job in the Northeast or on the West Coast because foreigners are more readily accepted there. In the South and Midwest, people tend to be suspicious of people with a foreign accent.
