Creative Writing Classes London

Tanya Said:

Am I qualified to apply to Imperial College, University College London, UManchester, and UBristol? (All UK)?

We Answered:

Wow congratulations in getting such high scores. A 4.0 and a 2300 on the SATS are hard to acheive. I think that the 3 is fine honestly. Becuase you got an A in the class, they will see that you understand the concept and excel in physics. However, did you do any extracurriculars or internships? if you do activites that are related to what you want to major in, it will show the universities that you are serious about what you want to do in the future. Rather than that, you are set. I know that you can get into those schools. Just be sure to have some safteys that you would not have a problem going too.

Best of luck~

PEOPLE WHO HAVE BEEN TO CAMDEN - What is the atmosphere like there? (10 points!!)?

We Answered:

Confusion would be a prominent feature of Camden
So many races, cultures and subcultures- from hippie to Rastafari to

The markets smell of Chinese food, Indian Incense, hashish, moroccan food and greasy donuts. Everyone there smokes weed, there's a group of punks on the bridge at all times (literally- any proper 70s punks too)

Hear music from CD shops and market stalls- psychedelic trance in particular also hard dance, raggae and dubs
Many tourists, emo teenagers, goths, cybergoths too

Lost of bars and loads of cigarette smoking al all times too.

Brightly coloured clothes, drapes and jewellary- the whole place is an assault on all senses, but I love it

HOW TO START A CREATIVE WRITING REPORT -- HELP!?

We Answered:

start with a cathcy opening paragraph. it should maybe start with a question such as
"have you ever touched your feet to the smooth side walk of camden town? have you smelled the beautifull smells coming from the near by ocean? have you tasted the warm bread fresh from the oven? the book you are about to read captures the whole experience many people dont get to have of being swallowed in the life of this wonderful town"

i dont know much about the place so it is not exact.

Christopher Said:

What college would be best for me?

We Answered:

I think Pepperdine University in Malibu, California is good for you. It's a Christian school which you would like. You should get around a 92% average to get into Pepperdine. It would be a lot different than in MA, so you may experience a cultural shock. I wouldn't suggest NYU since it is in a very big city, and school. I would also suggest Boston University, which is not as big as a city as NYC. I'm a freshman too, and I'm not doing as well as I usually do. I usually get all A's and a B, and I mostly have A's and B's now. I am not doing good in math, because she is the worst teacher ever, half of the class is failing. I would like to apply to schools such as NYU, USC, Pepperdine, Boston College, UGA, Flagler College, and Northwestern. I would check out the following sites: Career Cruiser, College Board, Petersons, Princeton Review, and US News. I would suggest scholarships.com and fastweb to look at scholarships. You can't apply now, but you can look. I am also middle class, so I can't afford 50k a year. Financial Aid can be very tricky... Good Luck!

Brandon Said:

Can you give me some advice as to university? Read details please :D?

We Answered:

First of all, I'm assuming you aren't English (possibly American?) because you don't seem to understand how the system works here. We don't have the major and minor system like they do in the US. You either study one subject (single honours) or two subjects equally (joint honours). Occasionally you will see a degree called (for example) English with politics, in which case it is usually split around 70% English to 30% politics, which I guess is similar to a major and a minor, but these kinds of degrees are not the norm. Also, you don't take basic classes or choose to take classes from other subjects, and you can't switch the subject you are studying like you can with majors in the US - you just study the specific course you applied for.

As for the subjects you want to do, I would say that creative writing is the kind of course which tends to be offered by less prestigious universities, so if that is important to you you may want to consider just going for English lit. on its own. This website lists all the university level courses available in the UK, you can put the subject and area where you want to study, then it has info on all the relevant courses like the entry requirements etc.

You also need to apply for courses through the UCAS website, there is information on the site about how to go about it. If you want to know whether the universities you are considering are actually any good in your subject, search for English on this website and see how London uni's are ranked. UCL and Queen Mary are the best in London according to this but neither of them offer creative writing
