Darlene Said:

My creative writing professor refered me to the counseling center because of my poem. Is it really that bad?

We Answered:

We here at the help desk have noted that by law, the teacher must take your threat seriously. Your poem is very dark and it sonds as if you are a troubled young man. Your professor was just worried and followed the guidelines. As an aside, consider the possibility that a different therapist would provide you a better experience.

Gordon Said:

10 points to best answer, Creative writing help, what would you do?

We Answered:

Well, getting stabbed in the center of the chest pretty much ensures death and if you want to fool your audience about her dying (which she can't because she's a fairy), then I would recommend something that would ensure death in that way to mislead who's reading. Getting sliced from your right shoulder to left hip provides some type of history to the character. The friend would aways look at her torso and be reminded of her friendship with this fairy. In other words, it's cleaner. If I were you, I'd do something like sliced from jugular vein to mid-torso. Something that the reader would see like, "Oh my God.. she's so dead and that's really brave to endure that kind of pain." But that would also leave the reader confused. Why can't she die? So all in all, your best choice might as well be a quick random stab to the heart or stomach (kind of theatrical, but effective). The more sudden, the better. And we all know in movies they do a quick jab here or there. So stick with that rather than a really gigantic slice.. she's not a tomato. :)
Hope this helped!!!
