Columbia University?

We Answered:

Wait, 3.87 is low? It's high--if it's out of 4.0, which I'm assuming it is. If you don't drop below that GPA and do well on your standardized tests in high school then yes, you have a pretty good chance of going to Columbia. Keep your mind open, though--you don't want to end up at a place that's not right for you just because it's your 'dream'

core education requirements in columbia university?

We Answered:

Three courses (at least 10 points) of science in addition to that a course called Frontiers of Science. Frontiers is easy though, more like reading about science than doing it.

There are plenty of easy courses that you can use to complete the requirement such as Physics for Poets.
Your lucky, your into humanities if your going to Columbia, the core sucks for a math major like me.

Question for Columbia University Students?

We Answered:

If you supply your information such as sat scores, school gpa, ap classes....etc. it would be easier to evaluate. However, since you are only a sophomore you have a lot of time. Don't stress too much over it yet, but really give it all you've got junior year in terms of grades. All three years and first half of senior year is taken into consideration during evaluation. SAT- start studying now; you'll have a better chance at pulling a 670+ in each section. take a challenging course load also- that will really help for columbia. Good luck:) ummm in terms of double major, it is very difficult to do a concentration in premed in addition to majoring in an english. So, if you are sure about med, maybe you'd want to major in a science and minor in creative writing.
