Careers In Creative Writing
Vicki Said:
What am I supposed to do if I want to pursue a writing career? We Answered:
Like artists and actors, the rungs of the career ladder for published authors are extremely narrow at the top, i.e., very few achieve wide success and make millions. As it is said about actors: "There are thousands of actors and actresses in Hollywood, and most of them are waiters and waitresses." But there are plenty of writing jobs that can provide a good living.“Try to enjoy the writing itself. Don't even think about publication. Just focus on making every sentence, every paragraph, every page the very best you can make it. Then, rewrite, rewrite, rewrite until the work is even better!” ~ Suzanne Lieurance

Success in any field is attracted, not pursued.
GOOD LUCK!

How can I get a career in writing without having to teach it?We Answered:
So...I guess a writing career is out of the question, then? I'm not sure of the point of your question. Do you want people to say, 'Oh, you're wrong! Writing is so much fun and you should go for it!?"Pick another career and move on with your life, you don't need to inform all of us here about what you've chosen. You don't just up and say one day that you want a career in creative writing, lol. It's not like graduating college and getting a job as an investment banker. You have to bring with you the goods beforehand if you ever want to break into the industry. No one is going to pay you for a novel that's not written and ideas are worthless. I guess you'll be writing creatively for your own enjoyment? Plus, I'm not sure how someone can like something, but not want to try at it or even do it for personal enjoyment. THat's like me saying I love playing the guitar but never want to learn it. Doesn't make much sense.
What's the point of this question? You're not going to have a creative writing career unless you actually like writing. You don't like writing. Think about it. If you liked creative writing then you'd write for the fun of it, not because you see fame, celebrity, or a pay check at the end of the day. I've written the first draft of a novel and I wrote it because I actually like creative writing. It was so much fun writing it, and getting it published is nothing more than a distant thought right now, because I'm more focused on honing my writing skills rather than trying to get rich quick, which ain't gonna happen in publishing.
You can't even bother to write for enjoyment, so that means you don't like it. It seems like you don't want to work hard for the money... Good luck with whatever you choose to do.

How do I become a creative writer? We Answered:

Name some creative careers for an introvert? We Answered:
Definitely a job in the entertainment industry could work for you. If you are artistically inclined, jobs in the graphic art area would meet your social requirements along with your creative side. Film editors also work by themselves. Try looking for a independent artist, or even volunteer your time assisting college film students. Get yourself something that will improve your resume, as it can also improve your life. Good luck!
