Writing For Business

Martha Said:

How would one break into the writing business?

We Answered:

I would suggest you read Writers Market 2008 and start learning about how the traditional publishing industry works.

But please steer away from poetry. Poetry does not sell.

Also, you can go to my profile. You will find I star all good Q and A regarding publishing and writing. Many successful authors have posted here to help newcomers. Take advantage of their answers. Print some out and study them if you'd like. Going through my profile makes it easier than weeding through all the Harry Potter and Twilight questions. Pax-C

Diane Said:

I've started a writing business but I need a committed partner with no ulterior motives. How can I get help?

We Answered:

Start researching the Ezine sites where people submit their articles and stories for publication. Look for the folks who publish frequently and read them, you can gauge their intellect and inner motivation from their writing style.

Then contact them directly through their email address to see if you can work together

Jacqueline Said:

What is a good name for a freelance writing business?

We Answered:

Top Dog freelance sounds good, or what about 'smoking pen freelance', 'speed typer freelance', 'words while you wait', Quality text freelance', 'article service', 'your text, my words', 'your story, my words', Once upon a time freelance', 'happily ever after freelance', 'eye-witness freelance', 'More than words', letter by letter', 'sentence by sentence'...

Perhaps I could come up with more but that is all I can think of for now. I'd love to hear the name you end up using!! GOOD LUCK!!!
