Technical Report Writing

William Said:

What can I do with a BS Biology, BA Psychology, technical writing experience, and research assistant experience

We Answered:

Sounds like you could go into environmental consulting. Any development project first has to go through a planning process, which often involves biological surveys to determine the presence of protected and/or endangered species of plants and animals. There are several firms that do this type of work, you can check your local yellow pages or google environmental consultant, environmental planner, or land use planner to get names of some local companies. There are also several job boards that are specifically for environmental consultants (listed below).

Gloria Said:

Is academic referencing is irrelevant to the task of writing reliable technical reports.?

We Answered:

YES,WITHIN THE CONTEXT OF NETWORK DESIGN AND IMPLEMENTATION,ACADEMIC REFERENCING IS IRRELEVANT WHILE WRITING RELIABLE TECHNICAL REPORTS.REFERENCING IN A ACADEMIC FASHION GIVES INFORMATION ABOUT THE THEORY PART OF THE DESIGN IMPLEMENTATION HOWEVER IN A TECHNICAL OR BUSINESS PROSPECTIVE A RELIABLE TECHNICAL REPORT IS WRITTEN BASING ON NUMBERS AND FIGURES WHICH PROVIDES INFORMATION ABOUT THE DESIGN AND IMPLEMENTATION WAYS IN TRUE TROUBLESHOOTING ENVIRONMENT.MAKING USE OF REPORTS THAT ARE ALREADY WRITTEN IT WILL BE USEFUL TO DESIGN NETWORKS THAT ARE MORE ADVANCED AND RELIABLE INSTEAD OF GOING BACK TO THE START AND WORKING AL OVER AGAIN.

`Conclusion'.
`Recommendations'.
`References' and/or `bibliography'.
`Appendices'.

Bill Said:

how do you write a basic technical report?

We Answered:

First, state the purpose of the experiment.
Next, describe IN DETAIL how the experiment was performed.
Last, list your conclusions. Was the experiment a success? Why or why not? Tell why. (Or why not. It's OK. Not all experiments go as planned. Others may want to replicate your attempts, tell them what to be careful of.)
These rules apply to almost any technical report. Remember them.
I hope this helps.
