Ian Said:

Is it important which God we serve, as long as we have some religion?

We Answered:

Of course it is Very important. Satan is considered a god, albeit not holy though. There is only one True Almighty God, whose name is Jehovah.
Psalm 83:18 That people may know that you, whose name is Jehovah, You alone are the Most High over all the earth.

Exodus 20:5 You must not bow down to them nor be induced to serve them, because I Jehovah your God am a God exacting exclusive devotion.

He is the only one who can fix this world and bring it back to the perfection He intended it to be.
Revelation 21:4 And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.

True worship is just as important. John 17:3 This means everlasting life, their taking in knowledge of you, the only true God, and of the one whom you sent forth, Jesus Christ.

1 John 5:3 For this is what the love of God means, that we observe his commandments; and yet his commandments are not burdensome

John 13:34-35 I am giving you a new commandment, that you love one another; just as I have loved you, that you also love one another.
35. By this all will know that you are my disciples, if you have love among yourselves.

Jehovah's Witnesses do not get involved with politics or join in the military or go to war. We remain neutral and focus on preachin the Good News of Jehovah's Kingdom.

Matthew 26:52  Then Jesus said to him: “Return your sword to its place, for all those who take the sword will perish by the sword.

John 18:36 Jesus answered: “My kingdom is no part of this world. If my kingdom were part of this world, my attendants would have fought that I should not be delivered up to the Jews. But, as it is, my kingdom is not from this source.”

Good question :) Thanks for asking.

Glen Said:

suggestions on a contemporary business issue?

We Answered:

The relationship between senior executive compensation and company performance globally. There is growing dissatisfaction from shareholders about the salaries, bonuses and stock options awarded to boards of directors even when the company is doing poorly. There is also an increasing difference between the wages of the average employee and top management which will be affecting morale. Another twist to this issue is the salary differences for bosses in the USA and in Europe and other countries. In America they tend to be much higher. The bottom line question will be whether shareholders continue to approve payments such as the $300M paid to the head of Countrywide for example or reject them? And will a US president, if a democrat, bring in new changes? It would also be interesting to see how senior people are paid in developing countries such as India, China and the Philippines.

Samantha Said:

Me, the Catholic Church, and the W.B.C.?

We Answered:

Stick to your Catholic faith do not play with fire.

Darren Said:

Political experts on conservatives?

We Answered:

The fact don't lie. Conservatives are concrete operational thinkers (level 3) and more left leaning people can see the grey areas and are capable of abstract thinking (level 4). It is a matter of brain power really.
Conservatives obey and need to be told what to do.

BAHHHHH BAHHHHH ya know?

Pamela Said:

So called church goes don't go to please their God but take what on offer?

We Answered:

In the Early Church, people were baptized in this fashion:

1. Once a year. They would prepare for an entire year to be baptized, studying and praying and following the teachings of Christ and His Church

2. Anointed with oil from head to toe (men and women were baptized separately due to being baptized naked)

3. Immersed in a pool of water, sprinkled in large groups (St. Peter at Pentecost is an example) or have it poured upon their heads.

4. Children were always included in this, as the promise was to them and their children. We can see pictures from at least the second century showing infant baptism.

As Christianity spread, immersion and full anointing became hard pressed. In areas such as Africa, where there is little water, immersion was almost impossible. Thus, allowing pouring or sprinkling became normal in areas like this.

As time went on, other reasons for non-immersion baptism came into play.

1. People with large wounds who were on the brink of death and wanted to be baptized could not be immersed, thus pouring.

2. People who had tracheotomies who cannot be immersed could be baptized. Withholding them from baptism just because they cannot be immersed in unjustified.

3. Geographical: Africa and Alaska do not allow for immersion in most cases.

All three are now accepted.
