What business plan/service can i make with my hobbies?

We Answered:

Offer to write movie reviews that can be posted above the movie section of Blockbuster. You agree to be paid 5¢ every time someone rents a movie you recommend. It sounds small but it could be a fortune with 10,000 stores renting movies..

How can I write a service agreement for computer repair service business?

We Answered:

I used to manage a local precinct of a national computer repair chain (yeah, that one) so here are a few tips... I would highly reccomend you take one of your old PC's in for a cleaning ($39) just so you can get a solid example of what an agreement looks like. Here are the BIGGIES...

1. Make a clause that you are not responsible for any data loss that may occur during the repair. Even if nothing is wrong with the hard drive when the computer is brought in, you are not responsible. Charge for data back-ups.

2. Repair times are estimates only and are subject to change without notice. No turnaround times less than 48 hours unless you honestly believe you can do it.

3. Computers will be scanned for viruses and spyware before any work is performed -- No software issues will be repaired until the computer is clear of all viruses and spyware.

4. It is the customer's responsibility to inspect their computer upon pickup. Any issues with the repair must be reported within 24 hours otherwise the customer is subject to additional charges.

5. You reserve the right to suspend work on anything if you have reason to believe that the customer is in posession of stolen software or illegal data.

Good luck, hope it helps!

Im writing about benefits of owning your own business. Mine in particular is janitorial service/office?

We Answered:

Its kind of like owning a dairy farm. Its 24 / 7 year round.
A good "bid on the job" lets you hire good help- if you can
find them, and make money off there work. A "bad job bid"
allows you to brake even if your lucky. You have a key to the
homes, and business,s. You'll need to be bounded as well
as your help. Its long hours but you can start small even to
the point of borrowing the clients 'vacuum cleaner'. It takes
little or no capital. All you really need to get started is
dependable transportation. A little math and a willingness
to serve the public. Hope that helps.

Is there a difference between a business and a service?

We Answered:

if you provide a service and charge for it then it is a business.

This is a question of definition. You can be self-employed and charge for a service (ie your time) without doing it through a registered company - you just declare your income through a Self Assessment form. Alternativly you can set up a company and do it through the company.

The pros and cos are to do with the way you pay your tax and NI, VAT recovery etc and the fact that you get limited liability with a company.

Generally if you are just charging out for your time then it is better and cheaper not to have a company.

Do I Need a Production Plan for My Service-Business Business Plan?

We Answered:

Instead of production plan, write how you are going to render your services and what resources you need. The term "Production plan" is a relict from the industrial age.

Discuss It!
