As a professional typist, all caps are never acceptable unless it is used in abbreviations. I would use proper capitalization and punctuation.

Don't forget that not all people have good vision, so choose a font that is large enough to be seen, but not brass and unprofessional looking. I usually stick with Times Roman font at 10-12 pts.

Academic writing usually starts with a general description and history of the subject, details of any part of the subject which need to be resolved and an explanation of the current and future situation. It's purpose is more to inform and educate rather than to persuade.

Business writing has to be persuasive. It often will use only the facts which support its own argument, omitting or downplaying negative factors. It will often use misdirection, supplying too much irrelevant information to deflect attention from known problems.

For example a letter regarding a proposed new landfill site will focus on making the domestic environment cleaner by removing domestic waste from view. It will play down the impact on roads and houses near the landfill and the negative effect of changing the use of land from agriculture to waste disposal.

A letter to a bank requesting additional funding will focus on the anticipated profits which such funding will produce and it will play down the burden of repaying the loan.
