WOW! First of all i'm impressed with you getting on top of your credit at such a young age. AWSOME! okaythen. YEEESSSS! Send the validaltion letters to the credit bureaus 'certified mail', that way you have a paper trail. keep it simple, something like this:

Disaster Bank
P.O.Blah
ciy,state,zip

Experian,

this company has failed to respond to my request to verify this account is accurate and is in violation of the "Fair Debt Collection Practices Act". Either Provied me the contract i signed or the voice recording where i authorized billing me for this account, or have it removed immediatley.

Send the letter (or perhaps an email version of it) and then follow up with a phone call the next day, or two days later.

1. Ask to speak to the manager/etc
2. If the manager is not available, leave your name and phone number with the person you are speaking to for the manager to call back when it suits them
* Ensure that you get the name of the person you are speaking to. This makes them feel more responsible for passing on this message.

THEN
a) The manager may call you back
or
b) The manager won't call you back.
The manager most likely won't call you back. So call again the next day, and ask for the manager again. If the manager is unavailable once again, mention that "whatever their name was" promised they would pass on your message yesterday yet you have not heard from the manager as you expected to. this makes them more likely to help you, knowing that someone has already probably been a bit slack and not passed on a message. Also it makes you look good, and organised.

If the manager is still unavailable, ask the person to arrange a time to call when the manager will be available.

When you speak to the manager, mention that you are calling to follow up on the letter you sent on (the date you sent it) and to check if they received it. Also then introduce yourself and explain a bit about yourself, including work you have done before.

Maybe also suggest things which you see a need for, ie. your design for your menu could be redone etc.

Another interesting thing which could set you apart from the crowd could be to do a trial thing. This makes it personalised. Provide them with a personalised example of your product to show the value of what you do (a lot of businesses might not understand)

The most important thing is you have to do the work when trying to get work. It won't just come to you. You have to search everywhere and you have to follow up. there may be lots who see your letters and put them up on their noticeboards to call you however never get around to it. That is the perfect opportunity for you to call and do the follow up for them
