Business Communication Writing

Henry Said:

Business Communication?

We Answered:

No, but maybe I have one and someone else has one etc etc etc
In business writing you are writing dry to a wall that only wants to see and hears only numbers. Profits, losses, dangers and problem solving. Conversely, in a term paper you are entertaining the teacher responsible for allowing your passage. Footnoted and cataloged very referenced by compare. In administrative writing you write in the attempt that what should be threatening to the lower classed employees attempting that what's written is geared for their meager intelligence allowing that they do understand of course. Where writing for a term paper you must massage the brain and coax feeling and passion from the words giving the sentences more than a decent chance of landing on it's own two feet and recognized for merit While writing for business you massage the bank by producing money where money does not exist.

Olga Said:

How is business writing differ from academic writing?what qualities make written communication effective?

We Answered:

Business writing is for a specific purpose, may include an inquiry, an answer to a previous letter, generally deals with a concrete and defined situation. Academic writing is a really broad category...can include essays relating to ideas, scholarly articles to present a view of a theory or idea, or serve as a review of a specific author's recent work.

Written communication is effective when it is clear, tightly composed [no rambling or roamings-around], gets to the point fairly fast, and is in a style suitable to its topic. Both business and academic writing should have these characteristics...and should be as free of jargon [whether "business-speak" or "academic boilerplate"] as possible. Straightforward, clear, grammatical -- and above all, interesting!
